January 2021 News: Funding for Byways

Scenic America ended 2020 with exciting news: the FY 2021 omnibus appropriations bill signed into law on December 27 included $16 million in funding for scenic byways. This marks the first time in nine years that the program has enjoyed dedicated funding.

A Billboard Comes Down in Florida

A long-standing billboard in St. Johns County, Florida, came down earlier this month-- the latest such billboard to be removed from along the Scenic A1A Highway. 

 

 

A Scenic Win in Colorado

On January 5, Arapahoe County Commissioners unanimously adopted an amended sign code that prohibits any new billboards and conversion of static to electronic billboards.
