I am writing to ask that you support H.R. 3195, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Permanent Funding Act. Passage of permanent LWCF reauthorization in March 2019 on a strong bipartisan vote was a huge victory for citizens and communities around the country. Now is the time to build on this positive momentum and guarantee the program’s funding as well. Reauthorization passed both the Senate and the House by huge margins, because investments in our public lands and recreation opportunities support local economies and fuel an important $887 billion outdoor industry. LWCF is also critically important for expanding access to public lands for hunting, fishing and other recreation. Dedicated funding for LWCF is a must, and the time to act is now. We have permanently protected LWCF’s unique structure and funding source, so we must ensure the funding goes where it is intended. I look forward to learning how you will act on this matter.
